The Death of Culture Jamming and
the Promise of the World Wide Web

-19980430

This paper was the product of an unlikely set of circumstances. At the same time that I was looking more deeply into performance art and various forms of culture jamming, "The Onion" was gaining popularity as a Chicago weekly. I suppose the stage was set for a local incident. Stouffer's billboard campaign was just what the doctor ordered.

There is so much great stuff in here. It was a lot of fun to write.

Check out The Family Circus, my ex-mailing list. It's the nasty me. I especially recommend the Bil Keane biography.
